Hi, I’m Kristen. I’m a twenty-something southern girl, tried and true… born in Louisiana, and raised in Houston, Texas. I currently reside in Austin, with my kitten, Milo. I went vegan in April of 2008, after being Vegetarian for 4 years. One of my favorite things to do in the kitchen is “veganize” popular foods and my favorite non-vegan dishes. I have a not-so-secret love affair with Donuts. My dream is to own a vegan bakery, and I’m currently in culinary school trying to see that out. Until then, I’m busy studying, testing recipes, and working as a Baker. My work experience includes bakeries such as Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop, and Hey, Cupcake!

I’m a fan of hardcore and punk music (youth crew!), the straight edge lifestyle, body modification, and I’m also a huge ska & reggae nerd. I also love taking pictures of food, traveling, sewing, odd shaped pasta, museums, to-do lists, sun light, and theme parks (rollercoasters!).

Veganism is my form of personal activism. I believe that choosing a cruelty free diet is a huge way to make an impact on our bodies, our world, and our society.
